Uttara Kaula on one level is the Northern Family/Clan of tantrikas, who venerate the feminine pricipal - Shakti. This clan encompasses all Tranktikas from Shiva himself.
Kaula practices are based on tantra, closely related to the siddha tradition and shaktism.Kaula stresses the language of self-sufficiency, liberation and freedom.
